We get clients asking about our turn-around times so much, we thought we’d write a blog post about it! Here’s what you need to know about how long it takes to complete your sheet metal project.
How long does it take to get a project quote?
We aim to turn-round all project quotes within 24 hours or 1 business day. If this is not possible, or we require more information to prepare your quote, we will contact you regardless, within those 24 hours. We don’t want to leave you hanging! Communication is very important for our team.
How long does it take to make my parts?
There are many variables to take into account here. This depends greatly on the complexity of your part, the quantity you’re ordering, the state of your drawings, the number of finishing and fasteners, and your ability to provide feedback and approvals in a timely manner. This could take anywhere from same day (for simple, flat, and low-run parts) to up to 4 weeks for more complex pieces.
When 24-hour delivery is possible, we often do the CAD and set-up work during the day and run the parts at night.
How can I get my parts quicker?
There are a few things you can do if you require a fast turn-around time for your sheet metal parts. First thing is to ask! We quote standard turn-around times, but can often deliver quicker depending on the other projects scheduled in our shop. Providing us with professional drawings with everything we need right away can cut down on file preparation time. And finally, the best thing you can do to get the fastest turn-around time possible is to respond to our queries for clarification and approvals as soon as possible (this is where much of the delay often occurs).
