If it wasn’t for inventors, where would we be today?

The world would be a different place if we didn’t have people inventing, innovating, and trying to develop products that make the world a better place. If it wasn’t for the invention of metal stamping machines, computer technologies, and waterjet cutting machines, we wouldn’t be in business today!

We’re proud of all the talent we have in our great country. To celebrate this, every July we celebrate Canada Day and spend time thinking about all the world-changing inventions that came from great Canadian minds:

  • Imax format: Going to the movies wouldn’t be quite as grand without it!
  • Poutine and Nanaimo bars: Both perfect items to splurge on after a day out in nature.
  • The snowmobile, snow blower, and snowplow: Many regions of Canada get significant snowfall in winter so these inventions make a huge impact in these regions!
  • Ice hockey, table hockey, and the goalie mask: If it wasn’t for these inventions, would Canada still be world hockey champions?
  • Medicinal Insulin: The 3 Canadians who invented the process for extracting insulin have saved so many lives.

We know that Canadians, and the world, are not finished inventing. What new inventions or discoveries will be made in the next 12 months, 5 years, 20 years? As we’ve learned so far, the possibilities are endless.
